DOS-only. It doesn't work on the Windows version...

If you press F9, it will save a PCX file to the TEMP directory and then ask you for a path and filename for it to copy to.

The video mode you're in will determine the resolution of the image. So, the default 320x200 in DOS mode will save a 320x200 image. Switch to 320x240 and it will save that. Some videos modes don't have a back buffer in a valid format, so they can't save at all...

I don't think I've given this option much attention in quite a long time.

Yes, it's wonderfully archaic. Maybe you want to fire up Deluxe Paint or something like that?
